Hi Laura. Thank you for taking the time to speak to us. Would you mind introducing yourself to our readers?
I’m Laura Minquini, founder and core lead of AthenaDAO. We’re a collective working to get more funding for women’s health research, education and access.
We are funding important research in women’s health and reproductive longevity which could help address some of the health issues women face when they age.
Our own research has shown us this is definitely an area that needs a lot of attention, so it’s great to hear about your mission. How does AthenaDAO go about doing this?
We leverage blockchain technology to fund research. You can learn more about how this works at https://news.crunchbase.com/health-wellness-biotech/pharmaceuticals-blockchain-crypto-web3-pfizer-pfe/.
Wow! I’ve heard of many uses for blockchain but that’s a new one to me! What is the background of your business?
Women’s health research is massively underfunded. Women live longer, but with a compromised state of health post-menopause. Female specific conditions are not researched as much so we need to find new ways to divert capital to research that focuses on women.
We’re on the market now and funded by a combination of cryptocurrency and venture capital funding.
Thanks again for your time, we look forward to seeing you at Longevitech!
